About Peoplespecifically Plumbing and How Referrals Work

Who we are
Peoplespecifically Plumbing is a referral service. We help homeowners in Detroit and the Detroit area find independent local providers when a pipe, drain or sewer line fails. We are not a plumbing company. We do not send our own trucks, and we do not do the work.
Why this site exists
Say you step into the basement and your socks soak through. Your phone shows a long list of names, and none of them tell you much. You are stressed, wet and short on time.
That is the moment this site is built for. It explains the problem in plain words, tells you what to ask, and points you toward providers in our network. Scene, then steps.
How matching works
You describe the problem through the request form or by phone. We pass it to a provider in our network whose service area and skills fit the job. The provider then decides whether they can take it. Availability changes through the day and the season, so Request a callback to check provider availability.
What we expect from providers
Providers in the network are independent businesses. We ask them to:
- Hold the licenses and insurance that local rules require for the work
- Explain what they find in plain language
- Give a written quote before work begins
- Treat your home with care
You should still verify these things yourself. Ask to see proof. A good provider will not mind.
What we do not do
- We do not perform repairs, clearing or installs.
- We do not set prices. Each provider sets their own.
- We do not promise arrival times.
- We do not decide insurance claims. Some policies may cover sudden damage, so check your policy.
- We do not replace your own judgment. Compare the written quote you receive.
How we are paid
Providers in the network may pay Peoplespecifically Plumbing for the referral. You pay the provider for the work, at the price in your written quote. Because of this arrangement, we point out the questions worth asking and the red flags worth knowing, so you can judge any provider on their answers.
Know the red flags
A solid provider gives a clear scope, a written quote and time to think. Be careful if someone pushes you to decide on the spot, asks for full payment upfront, or will not explain the problem. Ask before you book.
Get connected
If water is rising, a drain is backing up or you smell sewer gas, reach out now. Describe what you see, and we will pass it to a provider in our network.
If you would rather talk, you can also request a callback to check provider availability.
